Time, the Devourer of all Things.

This piece was inspired by this year’s World Oddities Expo poster, which featured vultures...it stuck with me and led me down a whole road. Vultures are closely tied to death, feeding on the dead and doing its part in the natural order of life...but they themselves aren’t safe from it...they’re part of it. Like everything else, they exist within time and are victims of it.

That idea led to the Latin phrase Tempus Edax Rerum.....“Time, devourer of all things.”

The web represents that connection...how everything is linked within the same system and how in Greek mythology, the Fates weaved the threads of your life. The circular frame, marked with clock numerals, reinforces that sense of continuity...not a beginning or end, but an ongoing cycle, that everything comes full circle.

Everything in this piece comes back to the same idea...nothing stands outside of time, and nothing escapes it.
